FAQ

  • Why are you doing this?

Lift 100 is a campaign to help qualified students who have an intellectual disability realize their college dreams, reach their potential and live self-directed lives as contributing members of their communities.

  • Why the $1,000,000 figure?

$1 million provides adequate funding for up to 100 students receiving full and partial scholarships to complete their first year of college. The dramatic growth in enrollment should spotlight the need to encourage state funding and corporate philanthropy to sustain the programs long-term.

  • How will the funds be used?

Funds raised will be put into scholarship pools at five South Carolina universities—Clemson University, Coastal Carolina University, College of Charleston, University of South Carolina and Winthrop University. Deserving students will receive help with tuition, fees, books and/or housing based on their financial need.

  • How can I help spread the word

You can help spread the word using your network of friends, family and co-workers. Use your favorite social media sharing tools.

  • Are you a nonprofit? Can I write-off my contribution with my taxes?

Yes, College Transition Connection (CTC) is registered as a public 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Contributions to CTC and Lift100.org are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. CTC’s tax ID number is 57-0841746.

  • Is this campaign open nationwide or just limited to South Carolina?

This is a nationwide campaign! While CTC’s five participating universities are based in South Carolina, students attend the universities from all over the country and world.

  • When will my perk be shipped?

Perks will be shipped once the campaign has closed, January 15, 2016.

  • Is shipping included for the perks?

    Yes, shipping is included.

  • Can my company contribute or match funds?
